Thankful Thursday

When I woke him up yesterday morning, the first words out of his mouth were “Today I get to ride the bus.”

The last words he spoke when I dropped him off at school were “I’m going home on the bus today.”

His teacher said that it was all he could talk about all.day.long and that he clapped and waved at everyone as he was hoisted in.

And when I walked outside to greet him at 3:00, he kept giving me the cheesy grin that says “You better take my picture, Mom.”

So to Ms. H, Ms. E, Mr. B, Ms. M, Ms. S, and the two Mr. S’s, the people who spent hours on Tuesday making sure that this happened – This one’s for you.

Have a nice day.

Susie, I’m in love with T and his mom. Thanks for sharing your beautiful family with us. Come see us. Xoxo

  2. Love that boy… and love you.

  3. Happy tears, friend. Happy tears.

  4. My two favorite parts…

“No, no, no, don’t push the buttons.”… knowing full well that T probably already reprogrammed the system to make it work better … but now it speaks only Spanish.

And hearing “I rode the bus today.” in that low, manly voice. At least I know that your boys will be real men and sing bass. Maybe T can even teach Craig how to shave.

  5. I have to write something funny, so I will stop crying. 🙂

Susan, have you ever thought of adding a trip to Target on the white bus as a part of his IEP? :))))

  6. I love nwhannas idea! made me laugh! out loud!

  7. What a positive outcome that made a young man happy. Glad to see that it all worked out. And hope his excitement for the bus doesn’t wear off too soon 🙂

  14. Such a handsome boy : ) I’m so glad he was able to ride the bumpy bus!

  15. LOVE!!!!!

  16. That was just what I needed to brighten my day! Every boy should have a mama that will stand up for him like T’s mama does. You know, the marching band takes lots of bus rides every Saturday. I could see a future for T in ‘the pit’.

  17. seriously…sweetest thing I’ve seen in a while. He couldn’t be more precious!
